A football glove with integrated sensors, paired with an app for personalized injury prevention workouts, designed to prevent finger injuries in American football players.

Project Length: 1 Academic Semester
Background
For my final "Methodology" course project, I decided to investigate common issues faced by American football players and develop a solution.
Finger injuries are frequent due to the sport's physical demands, and existing solutions offer minimal protection. To address this, I designed an innovative football glove that provides enhanced protection and connects to a mobile application. This smart technology offers personalized exercises to strengthen fingers and prevent future injuries, ensuring players maintain optimal performance on the field.

The Problem
In American football, finger injuries are a common occurrence due to the intense physical demands of the sport.

The Goal
The goal of this project is to revolutionize finger protection and injury prevention in American football. By designing a football glove with integrated smart technology, providing personalized exercises and real-time feedback, reducing the risk of finger injuries, and enhancing their performance on the field.

The Project
The Glove
After conducting research, I concluded that I would create an application connected to a glove with sensors to collect data on the player’s grip strength and finger flexibility. I was determined not to alter the appearance of the current football glove on the market, as it was already designed with various factors to aid players during the game. My intention was simply to add a new feature: the sensors.

The Application

The Startup Screens
The startup screens are the stage of the app where the user connects to the app while wearing the glove. The glove gathers the user's current data, such as finger flexibility and grip strength, allowing the app to track their progress.
These screens display the number of steps required to complete this stage at the top, along with icons that instruct the user on what to do for each step. A progress timestamp indicates when the step is fully loaded, helping the user know when it has ended.

The Profile Screen
The profile screen displays the user's information, including the last time they scanned their progress with the glove. It also allows users to upload a photo of themselves and features buttons that direct them to their progress pages and personalized workouts.

The Progress Screens
The progress screens provide users with all the data on their grip and flexibility progress achieved through personalized workouts.

On both screens, users can view their progress over time, whether they choose to see it by weeks, months, or years.

The graph also indicates if the user needs to improve or if the workout frequency should be increased for better and quicker results.

The Workout Screen
The workout screen displays personalized finger exercise videos that the user needs to follow to improve grip strength and finger flexibility. Following these exercises will help them reach their goals.
The Colors
For the colors, I chose different shades of green, which represent health and growth, along with light blue and grey, which are associated with trust and healing.
